CWE-476  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade libvips/libvips to version 8.14.4 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference. A specially crafted SVG input can cause a segfault when attempting to parse a malformed UTF-8 character.

Workaround

Users who are unable to upgrade to the fixed version can compile the library without SVG support using either the -Drsvg=disabled (Meson) or --without-rsvg (Autotools) flags.
